I think this is a dialogue between one (Light) and ones ego (Dark).
First bit, taking advice from your ego as to what to do, where does it get (us)?
Second, the ego is selfish and needs to be fulfilled, it creates highs or happiness.
Third, the ego is responsible for lows and negative emotions too, to contrast with highs. Perpetuating the cycle to seek highs. It's common to believe that fate is responsible, drawing attention away from the ego itself.
Will we ever get together in a song - will the ego and being be able to co-exist, without the being being suffocated by the ego
Will you ever tell everybody bout right and wrong - the ego is always right, whether you realise it or not. Even when you think it's wrong, your ego is doing the thinking :)
Will you ever let anyone one on in the meaning of life and death - as alluded to in other tracks - dying before you die is to be born
Do you need me or are you waiting for my last breath - your ego dies when you're at deaths door, your being finally shines though. Do you need me ego? or are you waiting till I have no time left?
