The Morning Lyrics

5000+ Plays from me alone. This song is the most beautiful when you wake up hungover, covered in vomit, and alone on a sidewalk in the middle of the city.

From the morning to the evening Complaints from the tenants Got the walls kickin' like they 6 months pregnant

They've been having sex since the night before and the noise has not let up.

Drinkin' Alizé with our cereal for breakfast Girls calling cabs at dawn, quarter to seven

Picture a refrigerator with nothing but alcohol. The girls, presumably the ones that slept over, want to avoid the walk of shame and call cabs to get home.

The sky's getting cold, we flyin' from the north We're rockin' with our cities like a sold-out show House full of pros that specialize in the ho'ing Make that money rain as they taking off they clothes

He's leaving Canada, to the main cities in the US to party and he visits a strip club.

Order plane tickets, Cali is the mission Visit every month like I'm split-life livin'

He either hates the cold or his home and spends an enormous amount of time in Cali as if he is living 2 lives.

Let the world listen, if a hater's caught slippin' Then my nigga stay tight, got my back like Pippen

He wants people to listen to his music and about what he is doing around the world (the strip clubs, etc). But if someone hates on him, he wants us (my nigga) to have his back.

Fast life grippin', yeah we still tippin'

He is snared by the prospects of living the fast life, but he doesn't forget to give thanks to those who deserve it. (Like tipping waiters..)

Codeine cups paint a picture so vivid He loves his drugs. 1 part cough syrup + 3 parts soda = Happy.

Fakes try to mimic get girls timid But behind closed doors they get oh so rigid

The fakes (girls who tease) tend to make all of the other girls self-conscious about themselves. But when they take one of these fakers to fuck, they freeze up because they really have no idea what they are doing.

All that money the money is the motive All that money the money is the motive All that money the money she be foldin' Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work

These lines claim that money is the only reason why strippers even do it in the first place. (Truth) He draws parallels to his own life and this connects to the second verse.

Push it to the limit Push it through the pain I push it for the pleasure like a virgin to the game

Like a girl's first time, he's enduring the pain and sacrifices that he has to make along the way in hopes of getting the pleasure that he wants..

A virgin to that money A virgin to the fame

..which is money & fame.

So this my only chance so when I'm over only pray That I flow from the bottom closer to the top The higher that I climb the harder I'ma drop

He's only got one shot to make it big and he's praying that he'll go from the very bottom to at least somewhere near the top.

But he knows (and I think the last line is comparable to drugs) that the higher/more famous he gets, the harder the fall. (Becoming a washout or losing everything)

These pussy ass niggas tryna hold on to they credits So I tell 'em use a debit watch they image start to lessen

He's definitely talking about a specific group of people here that try to hold onto their "street credibility," (Rick Ross anyone?) causing their decaying image.

I warned them like discretion Why these niggas twistin' Always fuckin' twistin' Why these niggas twistin'

I can't figure out the meaning to this.. Maybe twistin = trippin.

Shit that I got them on straight bar hoppin' To the music of the ambiance got shit poppin'

He's gotten some people high and they're bar-hopping/dancing to the drug induced music.

Zombies of the night Like old zombie movies, he comes out at night and disappears during the day.

Niggas ain't talkin' If they hypin' to the crew get it in like pockets

No one is talking/wants to embarrass themselves and he tells them to get over it if they're just trying to prove something (hypin to the crew.)

Downtown lovin' when the moon comin' Only place to find base heads and high women

After midnight, the only place where you can find high girls and cocaine (or crack? [freebasing..]) is downtown.

All that money the money is the motive All that money the money is the motive All that money the money she be foldin' Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work

Better slow down she'll feel it in the morning Ain't the kinda girl you'll be seeing in the morning

He references the beginning of the song where he wakes up with the strippers. He knows he should slow down because they'll feel sore, despite the fact that he won't be seeing her when she wakes up.

Too damn raw ain't no nigga worth her holding Ain't no nigga that she holding man her love is too damn foreign

She isn't going to hold the people she works with. She is just after the money because what she loves in a man is completely different.

Look at all that money the money is the motive All that money the money is the motive All that money the money she be foldin' Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work

All that money the money is the motive All that money the money is the motive All that money the money she be foldin' Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work Girl, girl put in work Girl put in work

My Interpretation

I don't totally & completely agree w/ u on everything, but I agree w/ u way more than anyone else who commented on the meaning. It's definitely about partying all night. I see it as being about partying w/ his crew all night w/ a bunch of strippers, so we're in agreement there lol. But in the last verse when he's talking about "better slow down she'll feel it in the morning", I think he's talking about slowing down on the partying (all the drinking & drugs) because of the hangover that's gonna be felt in the morning, & "aint...
