This doesn't apply to my religion- Methodist. Perhaps the title of this song should be more precise about which- so called Christians had a bloody history.
I was brought up as a Catholic. I've been told all my life that Jesus started Catholicism. then when I read 1 Corinthians 12:28... it didn't fit with how Jesus started Christianity. so I gave up going to church. Jesus started Christianity with apostles, prophets and teachers, so why not have them in the church? There are a lot of things in the bible that don't make sense/ don't match. I could quote them
