The first part is, i think, about the time they broke up Blink and went separate ways. The next part is about his freedom right after. Creating AVA and having this wishing well, that he drowned in. As he reached for the stars, but got burned as Ava didn't turn out to be the biggest thing ever known to mankind. The last part is either about the way the brake up happened. We've heard stories about Mark finding out that Geffen had offered Tom a Solo deal or whatever and Tom feeling like he "got caught" in doing something hushhush and not just telling the others about it. Or it could be about him doing drugs and being a dick and just forgetting about his unhappiness with the whole situation he was in. Or it could be about both :-)
