When I first heard this song back in spring 2011, when everything had happened with her hitting the bong and generally being vilified, I honestly thought this song was about her father. He was going on and erratically airing out his concern and details of her troubles while the were estranged. The whole thing felt very Michael Lohan to me. Rather than respecting her hope for privacy and actual needing of help, he basically blamed all of his family's problems on her. She needed her father, and he wasn't being there for her.
It seems they've resolved their problems but I have had this happen to me with several people. Two of them, I really had to give up. And the pain in her voice was my own.
