this song was written about his relationship with heather graham. they had a tumultuous relationship because of his bipolar condition. this was his apology to her. he said it on some television program.

he said this on TV? I don't buy it...but it bought him much good publicity, read all the comments...he took off the make up, but this message, his or another's, is full out secreting abuse. We feel bad for HIM not HER. She get's nothing but hit, no apology or promises, see? Not saying he is a sociopath, but the message in the lyrics is an admission, not an apology, and the thrill is to get to do it all over again with no consequence but to the girl...just my read
