To me, Crazy Fingers is a death bed prayer, a conversation with the creator, the omniscient possessor of the fingers of rain and light who can recall what still is to come, in the final moments before "Lady Lullaby" sings her song and "something new is born". It is a recognition that without the hidden risks and hardships life would not be what it is and those things, the undertow, only serve to heighten the grandeur of the "deep sea of love" that is life. In those last moments we must necessarily let go and shed our illusions of control and the delusions under which we have lived in life. Though we may never have achieved the gold ring of perfection in existence the important thing is that we tried now that it is midnight on this carousel ride.
