One of my favorite songs, but not my favorite version. Luv this artist, though. I grew up with him on the stereo daily because he was one of my parents' favorites. The song is so dated, which makes it even more beautiful due to its innocence. I grew up at a time when couples couldn't kiss in TV shows nor share a bed even if they were married. EVERYONE worried what the neighbors would think because little Susie and little Johnny each had their set rules of behavior to follow and there were dire consequences if they didn't follow them. Without sex on the table (so-to-speak), relationships took time developing. Couples got to know each other as people before they took it to the next level, which often wasn't until marriage (or darn near close to it). Sex was a special act...often a religious act to consemmate a marriage that was founded on love, not lust. Anyway, the innocence of this song gets me every time; I love the romantic images it conjurs in the mind...and heart.
