This is a typical A & J Stone song...perfect for their vocals and personalities. They are such an incredible duo, although I haven't yet decided if I like Julia providing the vocals for different television ads. In the song the woman's been misreated, especially left behind (perhaps physically or emotionally) and she's finally given up on the man she loves. The cigarette line could have to do with the old notion that people smoked after sex (it's a release) and in this case she has just released him and hence her heartache. Not my favorite of theirs, but they have so many wondeful tracks from which to choose :) Just 4 comments for the Stones? Inexcusable!!!
They are one of my favorite bands. Just love almost everything they've ever released. This song is about not belonging to someone. It's about being free. (Not sure why anyone has worries or feels the need to proclaim his/her freedom when s/he is already free:D Breathe. No guilt. No need for it.
