wow! okay. here in the beginning Jordan is singing about he && his lover are causing havoc "hatchets" with their sin "wander blindly" (we lose awareness in sin) which is lust "forest of flesh" in the beginning.
we then call themselves lepers which were people who were terribly sick in the bible; so sick that nobody wanted to even touch them; they were outcasts. he then sings how their sin is completely destructive.
"never give them bread" i love this line! it basically means to give glory to Christ. Christ gave us (his disciples) bread so that we may live with Him. && now they haven't returned the bread Christ 1st gave them.
I don't know serious Jordan's faith is in actuality but his songs literally screams out his overwhelming faith in Christ. He knows judgement is at the end (physical death) and he wants God to place wrath on them not mercy which to me says that he wants God to discipline him like a good father would do. Hope this helps!
