To me, this song is about depression or feeling trapped in a dark place in your mind, the opening line "How can you see into my eyes like open doors?" Suggests that she has felt this way for a long time, but someone comes along who can really see that she is unhappy. Even though she is used to bottling it all up, and no one noticing.
The rest of the song then seems to be about her trying to get a hold of herself again and 'bring herself to life' (out of the depression.) It's almost as though the one person noticing her sadness has sparked her determination to save herself and break free.
