This Beauty Lyrics

Nope. It's about feeling one does not measure up to others. The beauty ideal (for women at least) is found w/in the pages of fashion magazines, yet we so often forget that these women are paid for their beauty. They are not the norm. They are also professionally dressed and made up (with makeup and hair styles). Some pics are airbrushed to diminish any human 'flaw.' S/he lacks the smiles and laughs due to her insecurity because she can't seem to understand that true beauty is found within...much like the gorgeous wrapping paper we remove from the gift it covers. It's not the paper we keep around and admire. It's what's inside that paper that has substance. (This is not to say that beautiful women/men cannot be bright; warm; intelligent, etc...) Some of us never see our beauty (our worth) because we have been hoodwinked by society's idea of beauty and priority.

I never looked at it like that, that makes sense, thank you.

I left out the most important part...someone has seen her beauty ("When your words Run forever in my mind And those greens And those blues Seem too perfect to true I will light a fire every time") and she wants desperately to believe she is beautiful, too ("And maybe, just maybe This beauty will be clearer to me"). Obviously it's all subjective for we have no way of knowing what the singer meant unless s/he told us. I am the LAST person you should look to for lyrical interpretation. I am HORRIBLE understanding metaphors, deeper meanings, etc....

I think you are doing great!!! Thank you.
