"We may not have all the answers....
just follow the beat, the rhythm will lead you right back to me"
I'm assuming, an old lover had come back into his/her lover's life. He/she isn't really interested in the relationship. They don't have all the answers (of love, I'm guessing). The next verse talks about not leaving one another and having a little faith that it'll work out in the end.
"I will go down to the last round
i'll be your strength to find you when you get lost in the crowd
so i'll stand up tall if by chance I fall
then i'll go down as a casualty of love"
He's gotten in the wrong crowd so she's saying she'll be his guide back to his old self..(?) Like if he looses himself, she'll always be there, standing up tall, to guide him and keep him safe. If she falls down [WHAT I SEE IT AS] she let herself down by loving him. It was her love that caused the injury....since he wasn't interested.
Then after that...it goes on to say, they both could leave one another and not have any scars...(escape w/out being hurt).
[Skipping a few verses]
She loves him, and she is willing to love him for the both of them, through the numb-ness of pain "that's the price, I'll pay".

[she'll continue to love, fight] [she'll be his strength] [if she gets dumped] [then she'll go down forgotten how to love]
