I first heard this song, after listening to Hurt since the Vol. I days, right after my fiance of almost 4 years left me. The song fits the situation and the reasons behind the split so well, we'd broken up before and gotten back together shortly after, swore I would never let it happen again, and while a lot of things changed not enough had for her to stay with me. It's nice to have a song about a relationship ending that doesn't revolve around cheating or abuse or the anger associated with the maelstrom of feeling because we both loved each other when it ended...and I know if she's reading this right now that I still love her with all my heart, and I'll never give up and shut the door on her <3
