I agree that its about a relationship, and probably some sort of drug problem, but I believe this song is a duet, just he sings it solo.

Welcome back Winter once again And put on your warm fuzzy sweater 'Cause you'll feel much better when The snowflakes fall gently to the ground The temperature drops and your shivers Freeze all the rivers around But I keep you warm

  • The guy sings this, they're just having a cute moment

If speeds a pro, Inertia must be a con 'Cause the cold wind blows At precise rates When I've got my ice skates on

If all the roads were paved with ice That wouldn't thaw or crack I could skate from Maine to Nebraska Then on to Alaska and back 'Cause you keep me warm -The girl sings these two sections

--In between these two sections, the guy realizes the girls drug problems, and gets angry

Peer over the edge Can you see me? Rivulets flow from your eyes Paint runs from your mouth like a waterfall And your lungs crystallize -This part is sang by the guy, yelling at the girl and confronting her I'll travel the sub-zero tundra I'll break glaciers and frozen lakes And that's just the tip of the iceberg I'll do whatever it takes to change -This is sang by the girl, begging the guy and saying she doesn't wanna be like this anymore, and reall really wants to change

Farewell powdery paradise We'd rather skate on the thinnest ice Fingers failed us before they froze Frostbite bit down on all our toes -Perhaps this is sang by both, talking about how she wants to change, and it wont be an easy tasks, but they dont care and would rather be on this route

Snow drifts build up and enfold us - Sang by the guy As we wait in this winter storm - Sang by the girl So we snuggle close in the darkness - Sang by the guy And keep each other so warm - Sang by the girl -This section is talking about how they're going through it and yes its extremely tough, but they'll get through it together, helping one another.
