This song, like every other song, can take on a bunch of different meanings. For me personally, I think that everybody is right about the how we lose ourselves and control over what we say and release who we really are and what we really think. I also agree with the opinion that as the argument escalates, we grow more distant. However, after watching the music video (and I know people are going to comment on the irrelevance of the video), I think that there is an underlying message that there are people out there who are like us and that everyone is going to get in an argument with the people we love. There will always be contention between us. And it is sort of a way to unite us all together in seeing our flaws until we apologize (hence the boy kissing his dad.) Also, based on the video, I think that we should all be more grateful for the fact that we DO have people in our lives we love who love us back and can show that affection. The boy in the video only had his father, yet acknowledged that he had a father and was grateful for him.
