But all this done in small steps, like with the frog that got boiled in water because the temperature rose just a little every time. To me, the song describes an individual who suddenly realized there is a hierarchy being built up which was hidden from his eyes, but now he sees, and understands that it aims for the total control and manipulation of the population, taking away all of freedom. Also, he realizes that it's been prepared for a long time, but it's NEVER too late to take heed and stand up for himself, for his rights.
And yes, WE have to take a stand, we have to end the system that we allowed to oppress us for centuries.
