thanks for the lyrics correction! i buy mp3s not CDs so i had to decipher the lyrics by ear, definitely appreciate the help.
based on introspective analysis of many of young galaxy's similarly powerful songs, i can't help but think that they're once again painting in broad strokes with this offering. when i meditate and reflect on these lyrics, i can't help but feel that it's hinting toward the flames of spiritual rebirth. when you've been off the path for a long time, but something sparks inside you, and before you know it the burning, powerful flames take over once again, connecting your soul to your body once again.
to me, artistic metaphors involving flame/fire are analogous to passion. we see this in love songs, but it's amazing when this feeling is captured as perfectly as it is here in regards to passion of the spirit. with my own experiences involving drug addiction, when i finally cleaned myself up and felt the first tickle of spiritual arousal after such a long period of soul hibernation, i became so invigorated and, well, PASSIONATE about my rediscovered faith (more zen than monotheism, to clarify. not hating on any belief system, just relaying my own).
and so, "blame it on my burnin' heart." i can't help it, the flames have been sparked, the embers are glowing, and i feel like i've come home again.
