I never heard anything about it, but I also always had a funny feeling that this song was about the death of a pet, a dog in particular, i think because of the "I'll always remember our COMPANIONSHIP" line, and also the line "I will hold your head while the doctor sticks the needle in" But I agree with CIA420 This whole album is super underrated, but I realized today while I was listening to it, that, to me at least, for what its worth, sounds at least 10 or 15 years ahead of its time, I don't think a lot of people were ready for an album like this. I must admit I am a HUGE Mike Larsen fan, not just eyedea & abilities, and oliver hart, but face candy, carbon carousel, the Mike Larsen solo shit, and Puppy dogs and Icecream, I love it all, this album took a second to grow on me. I always liked it A LOT!, but the more I listened, the more I liked it, and every time I listen to it I still like it more and more and more, the actual album came with a lyric book, and reading that just makes me like and appreciate all the songs even more. Also, whoever did the cover art for this album is a BADASS with water colors to say the least. RIP Eye
