"and I admit I can't go on like this anymore" giving into suicidal tendencies perhaps?
He's begging to go back to his old self again, he's hurt a lot of people made some big mistakes he's clearly asking for forgiveness claims to have changed into someone that they had created in their minds and is stating that fact so they'll feel guilty?
