This song is about in the 1930's and 40's during the Great Depression when lots of people took to the trains and starting "riding the rails." When people would get sick on the trains, they would go to the hospital. With the large influx of hobos, people in the hospitals were getting mad and so they started feeding the sick hobos a mysterious "black bottle" which they said was medicine. However, in reality, it was poison that eventually killed the patient opening more space in the hopsital. Chad goes on to say, "If you're ever ridin' the rails and you get sick, don't drink the black bottle when you go to the hospital." haha
