In my opinion, this song is about being born into a world that automaticaly creates this addiction to these "drugs". "Sugar from the day you are born"; our parents feed sugar to us when we are young.. and verything pretty much has sugar or some sort of artifical sweetening or flavouring, we cannot help it when we're babies. Blur refers to hard drugs like "cocaine for murderers", watch any movie with a cocaine dealer.. it usually entales some sort of mafia or gang. They are relating not drugs but the substances that make this society go around with everyday things that we do not even notice. The songs not nessisary about drugs but just things that we are so use to.. Just like addictions. We crave life and fun but everyone is merely the same and will get into work after their education.."Caffine been through all of us". We don't notice how brainwashed we are in this society, and how addicted we are to living the way we do. We are hooked on the life that was given to us, not the life that we never chose.. "Sugar from the day you are born" my friends!

Blur is brilliant, they're so controversial but in the most charming way possible. Just love, love, love them!
