Why is this so hard?
I think that the most convincing meaning is to not waste the rest of your life mourning over broken dreams or a lost loved one. They wouldn't want you to die alone and depressed, hence the Chorus (most likely speaking from 'heaven'):
"Hey, don't wait for me there
Just find your own way" - basically saying come to heaven with me your own way, not by mourning me.
Then I THINK that the second part is the mourner speaking back, saying "ill be there soon enough" maybe one of you can help me with that part :)
This song CAN be about war, but it isnt specifically. fmunoz, it cant be urs because the second verse says a widow, so that means he died in battle. The overall meaning is what i stated above. i just lost my grandma so this fits well right now
