The meaning of this song, for me, is plain to see. The fact of loneliness can be experienced by ones self...as a couple...or even in a crowd!
The most extraordinary part of the song is the following lines:
"No is the saddest experience you'll ever know---------Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know" It seems to be speaking about hearing the word "No" and the feelings one has after hearing the word. I can sympathize with a feeling of anxiety or sorrow when the word "No"is used as a response to some inquiry of mine.
