^I agree. This song is amazingly atmospheric. . my favorite verse is the second one which begins with 'very brief in the night' The trumpets at the end are spine-chilling.
As for the meaning, it's obvious: she's seeing somebody pass by on a train. . but the whole mood of the song is so slanty I can't tell if she knows the person or not. .
