I think the lyrics are fairly self-explanatory, but my take on it is that it's about a couple, where they're obviously falling apart, and for the first part of the song it's just about thinking "what the hell happened?". The one person maybe feels the other is more to blame, in that they just lost interest in the relationship.
"I used to mean something to you, but now I'm tired and alone"
"Stop thinking, start making sense to me" - The one person is thinking too much and not communicating well with the other, and is consequently losing interest in the relationship from the indecision.
