Anyways, I think the song is about a relationship that someone keeps chasing even though they knows it's never gonna work out. And the line "It's hard to get around the wind" means it's hard to get over this person. Done.
"It's hard to get around the wind" would be similar to spitting into the wind. It's a struggele. It's a fight. It's blocking you from moving forward. It pushes you back. You can't beat the wind. The loss is inevitable (which I probably cannot spell and do NOT wish to look up online). I don't believe it's about getting over anybody. It's about the futility of the relationship in the state it is in at present, which is why s/he's looking for a new beginning. It could be with her/him or just an entirely new start...
