I think this song is about how love is now non-existant nowadays. Sex is a way of showing your love for another person in a physical way, but turns out the love isn't there anymore. I think Anthony is saying that he'd rather be dead then have to go through life alone in a lustful world. He's striving so hard to find true love but always ends up getting hurt, and it's eating away, thus trying to say it's up to us to figure out the rest.
