I believe his ex-girlfriend was an alcoholic who turned alcoholic who turned to drinking or him when she had issues. He says "find someone else to play" meaning she was toying with his heart[either she was a liar or a cheater for entertainment]. He makes known she has problems, most people wouldn't make a big deal out of one or two issues so there's more than a few and they're big problems that he won't fix them for her.
