I really like this song. It's not one of her most popular tracks on either of her cd's (2007's Metropolis and 2010's The ArchAndroid).
Throughout the lyrics of the song I particularly like where in the chorus we hear, "But if there's no call from joy control warning me against the disease of my heart." I think that obviously is talking about the manifestations of love. I like how this is put in this sci-fi mind control lens, a sort of political statement as well. Mind control prevents us from loving the way we naturally feel the way to.
Truly would be a shame if there wasn't joy control and those remaining want to suffer.
