Mousetrap Lyrics

Some clever word play going on in this one. I think it's about trying to walk away from being a musician and the trappings that go along with it - you keep getting drawn back to it for some reason or another (maybe because the music is intrinsically the musician - it's what you HAVE to do, art for the soul's sake, and all that). "I don't know if the real me wants to leave that trap at all."

Then there's the "Mouse" angle: Kill Creek's old record label was Mammoth, which was purchased by Disney (hence the "mouse"). The band had completed an album that the new label owners wouldn't release and subsequently let the band, along with many others on Mammoth, go. I believe that Disney contractually got the masters to the album (titled Whimsy), and it never saw the light of day. But, that's okay, because Second Nature picked 'em up and Colors of Home was released. :)
