Apparently the music video and the actual lyrics are completely diffrent but they still manage to find a common ground. I agree with SASEKO, Mary wasn't pregnant from the guy that commited suicide because that would not cause her life to be stole, there are plenty of mothers raising a child without a father, but i do think her life was stole based on the fact that she was the one who witnessed the death, she had dreams of being something bigger, the guy killing his self caused a chain impact. Being that he killed his self mary had to witness it, if you noticed how she came across before at the begining of the video
(A carefree girl who seemed like she had everything figured out) but after she heard that gunshot and walked into the bathroom to see his body she became emotionally scarred, trying to get rid of it she must've questioned her whole life...
Has anyone wondered she might have been one of the kids that saw him getting bullied and done nothing, she possibly blamed herself. She started doing things to get over that day, ultimately getting pregnant. She forcebly had to give up her dreams, she probably will get there some day but for now she realizes she has bigger responsibilities. (compare her dressing at the begining of the video)
