"It's not like I was lost for a purpose, I lost purpose and purposefully froze"

This line in the song really speaks to me. People spend the majority of their time looking for that purpose in life, at times it become very tedious and tiresome. For some of these people (myself included), we get stuck in a rut, believing that we will never find purpose or we never had purpose in life, and that terrifies us. So we purposely numb and freeze ourselves to overcome that fear.

My Interpretation

The song makes me want to listen again and again but I couldn't get the tune of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Saturday Night Special out of my head while listening to it. Not a bad thing-it is an awesome song too! I believe this song could have several meanings-for one he is singing to someone frozen in the uptight, narcissistic, numb world of today and realizing that he once felt frozen and less purposeful but now feels the ability to let go of the anger and selfish behavior and can "wave his arms again".
