I know that my opinion of what this song means is very personal to me because of my problems with mental health but I think this song is about suicide. The song is titled "End" and the lyrics are in typical Smith fashion dark, and depressing but more so than usual at least to me. I always thought that the person is just fed up with life, living, and their dead relationship so they just kill themselves.
I also think it could be about maybe fame and fans too. So many fans think their __ is god. I think it can be quite a complicated relationships there. Especially is the work isn't steady, declining, or even if it's great some people just are head over heals with these celebrities, and won't be disappointed by what they do.
