wow, this is one of those songs I never caught all the lyrics to, but just liked its overall sound and vocal style. But this changed for me yesterday.
I'll explain.....
30 years ago I met and fell in love with an amazing woman. my bad habits and overall insecurity caused us to part company 20 years ago. No calls, letters, casual or indirect contact for a complete 20 years. But I remained deeply in love with her. 2 failed extended engagements/relationships later I was basically still a bachelor when I managed to contact her thru facebook. Turns out we were both single and I took her out for dinner. We have been almost inseparable for 6 months now.
Yesterday, this song came on the radio and I caught a few lyrics. So I looked them up....
"then as it was, then again it will be".
I read the whole thing and was stunned, thinking how closely one persons experiences and emotions can compare to your own is uplifiting to say the least. (I got chills)
In Plant's situation he probably made a good descision choosing his music over his love. Im my case I made some bad descisions, and its a life changing experience to get a second chance.
This song will remain very special to me until I pass on from this world, and maybe longer.
Oh yes, and the music is just as amazing as the lyrics.
