The glockenspiel is a vastly underused instrument these days.
I see it a little differently. I see it as a reminder the things we perceive (pretend) as being perfect that really aren't. Disillusionment.
Being in a relationship that you feel/believe/act as if it is everything you want and need, but acknowledging nothing is really perfect.
It's not so much, IMO, about want something you dream about but can't have- rather getting what you dreamed of and realising it isn't what you expected.
