This song speaks so much of what I've been through in relationships. It is like a valentine to myself. So this is how I interpret the song... It's about a couple. An immature kind of selfish guy and a caring needy girl(AKA me). She tries to be the best she can be for the guy, but yet when he comes home each night, she's left without the love she needs. Everyday she tries to show how much she cares, like bringing him flowers, which also symbolize her innocence. Yet, he never cares enough to show her he cares too. She eventually has a sort of falling out with herself and sinks into a deep depression and low self esteem. The song refers to this in the part where she's looking up and looking dead. All the life is gone from her eyes. She's lost herself. She's been way too dependent on him, and he's failed her. Her being naked refers to her dark secrets finally being exposed. There's nothing left for her to hide. He finally sees how much he's hurt her and how terrible things have gotten. The yellow crumpled piece of paper i believe was a note she wrote telling him how he made her feel, but she got scared of hurting him so crumpled it up. I'm not sure about the sevens, nines, and tens. But I think there might be something significant about the number eight being skipped. I think her not waiting for him symbolizes her realizing she couldn't change him and giving up on the relationship. I believe her thinking she missed the train to mars refers to her feeling odd compared to other people, like she cares too much compared to others, and it leaves her feeling alien, like she doesn't belong. Her counting stars has two different meanings i think. One meaning is that she's looking up hoping someone out there might feel like she does. the other refers metaphorically to getting nowhere in the relationship. As in the stars are nearly endless. It's impossible to count them all, like it's impossible for her to get what she needs from the relationship. I love this song so much. I hope you all do too. <3

My Interpretation

@bubblyanarchist77 Is "8" the only number that's not connected? There's no togetherness? Like, when you draw an "8" the circles overlap and connect in a single, endless stroke?
