Agree with halesdd, pretty easy to interpret. This entire album seems to be a reflection of the life Jim James has lived to this point and his perspective on life considering his experiences. Definitely an open and honest reflection of himself and the world around him. As much as he reflects on the past in the lyrics of these ten songs, there's a hopeful longing for a future built on positive construction.
