I wouldnt go as far as saying this is strictly about his dad but I think it really is about how he has let down people, which yes would include his dad. But this could be a range of people such as ex band members (Brent, Ryan, Jon), Maybe Pete (DecayDance) and FueledByRamen (he could feel that the band breaking up was caused by himself and feels that he has disappointed them) but maybe more importantly the fans (I think its more about the fans than anything)

Could be him thinking about his big expectations for the band in its infant stage (just signing, first album, fists tour and all that jazz) and he feels that it all gone wrong now that two members are gone.

He did get a whole lot of sympathy and shit from people after Jon and Ryan left, I think this part is just saying that he wanted all the sympathy he could get to hide all the insecurities he had.
