jen is a girl who used to be like everyone else. but after having to face some depressing realities involving someone she was in love with (and dumped by), drugs sort of got in her mind and now she thinks that they're keeping her sane.
but the singer, he wasn't the one who was dumped. he brought a girl into his life and then pushed her out of it. after his break up with her, he realizes that he was a lot more alone than he ever felt and the friends he seemed to have lost might not come back.
jen doesn't want people to see what she's going through, so she plays her life up as being one of the beautiful popular girls who is always fucked up at parties. she thinks that this will hide her insecurities because she thinks its better for people to think shes just stupid rather than broken.
