I've read a few sources that say Phil Labonte is a christian, but this song doesn't make much sense to me in a christian context. Why would a person of faith need to claim not to be faithless? "We're far from faithless" seems to be a more appropriate response to being accused of being faithless, which is something a religious person probably doesn't get accused of very often.

To me, this song makes more sense in a context of non-religiousness. Someone might be called "faithless" for being agnostic, atheist, etc. but their rebuttal might be that they have faith in themselves and their abilities. They "believe that [they] belong" to humanity as a whole and want the "weakness" of hatred and discrimination among mankind to fall.
