Somewhere Else Lyrics

This song leaves a certain melodramatic aftertaste in me. It reminds me of how we all go through life, missing opportunities and restricted by boundaries. Yet, that is how life is. I guess it's just my interpretation.

"Come in knowing everything. But don't say a word, till they teach you the way." We are capable of so much, but we only do the things that we are told.

"Words are found too close to the edge. That we don't dare sing." Some things feel like such a risk, simply because nobody else does it.

"And you said I should be myself. Despite all the wrong, dragging you back." So of course, they keep telling us to be who we are, but you really can't.

"And this'll turn into something else, something else. But when it does, I'll be somewhere else, somewhere else. Where else?" Things may change, but by then so will you, and yet again, you still can't be who you really are, because it all boils down to the first verse, "Home and away, life goes on the same."
