Like many others, I relate to this song from personal experience. Detail for detail this song is pretty much the story of my life. There was a girl when I was 17, we spent a lot of time restraining our screams, and we were caught fooling around once. After breaking up and re-united at 21, she said some pretty harsh things to me, and I had a military life (not fun) dragging me away at the same time. Despite where that brought me, I wish we'd just jumped in a car and taken off instead. Now she's married and I've had nothing but a string of meaningless relationships since. To top it off, I can still feel a fire inside for her and I'll probably be seeing her at my upcoming high school reunion. Maybe I can tell her to go listen to this song.
