When I listen to this song, i think of a serial killer who is disguised in a costume and targets unattended children on Halloween night. What's the motivation? Envy. The serial killer has to deal with a dark past and a wretched life and longs for the carefree days when he/she was a child and had no responsibility. In order to feel powerful and avenged, the serial killer goes after the innocent and the vulnerable (the bitter and the sweet).
