He sees that there's something wrong with her. He knows that it must have been something that he did wrong (again). He wants to apologize for it, but he doesn't even know what he's apologizing for.
Apparently she said something that really hurt him, and he wants to know what he could have possibly done to make her say something so mean. But she won't open up to him about it.
He's in love with her and he wants her to see that but he just keeps doing things wrong (or at least thats what she makes him feel like). And he hopes that she'll see that he loves her and that she'll come back to him.
All he really wants to do is to talk to her and for her to actually tell him what he's done wrong. She just keeps threatening to leave and he doesn't know how to fix things.
Towards the end he says that if she wants nothing to do with him, then he will back off. But if she finally realizes that they're meant to be, then he's going to be there waiting for her. He's not giving up until she does.
