This song always brings a tear to my eye... It's also the song that I first heard from Inferno.

Strange fact coinciding with FastFallerSky's story, in the film Mad Love(starring Peter Lorre), Rollo the knife thrower was beheaded for killing his girlfriend's father(they all worked in a Circus), I believe. He was then apprehended by the police. When the time came for his execution, he was actually kind of calm about it, in a particularly funny way, which makes me think about how calm and accepting Jack sounds when he says the last "It's time to get gone"....

Also, strangely, the line "I lit it like a stage and I gave it like a gift" is similar to a line in Jeffrey Lee. Also ironic because Inferno used to perform unauthorized pyrotechnics at shows, sometimes almost(accidentally or purposely) catching the building on fire.

It's also about a punk band being broken up because something one of the band members did to involve the cops and security.

All of these references sort of amass into a sort of prophetic ending of Inferno, or it could at least be interpreted as such. "As much as I don't want to remember this and how I wish it would last forever, let me put it another way. I know you're hoping for some permanence but there really is no place for this, your tattoos- they're gonna fade." And I know a lot of Infernites who got tatoos referencing Inferno. Somehow, they seem to know it's going to end very dramatically. So sad, yet probably true....

Also, he wasn't beheaded when he killed his girlfriend's father, he had to be apprehended and sent to the city to be executed first. No point in trying to behead a body that had no head, lol.
