Ohhhhh. This is my absolute favourite song that John Mark has written. It's my lifesong haha, seriously. If I could choose one song to sing for the rest of my life, it would be this one. Hands down! It speaks of His love, and how it has overcome the power of death, death has lost its sting, and Gods love just stomps all over that and blots it out. Oh I love it. The line that tugs most at my heart, well there are two of them, but the one that is very dear to my heart and that I manage to plaster everywhere (I even write it on my Facebook status like, often hahah) is: When you walk into the room You know I can't resist, every bottle of perfume always ends up on the floor in a mess" ... Oh, my heart delights. I think that is one of the most beautiful string of words ever written. It paints the most beautiful picture in my mind, of Mary knelt down before Jesus, pouring out her expensive perfume on His feet. It also speaks to me of like, the gift we bring to Him, the love we bring to Him to pour out all over Him. When we meet with Him, our intentions should be to bless Him and love on Him cos He is so so worthy, so so worthy of all that AND more. And like, when we come to Him and give Him what we have, the song of love that we sing, the dance that we dance, the whatever it is: I think we leave more blessed and what-not than anything haha. We meet with Him, pour out our song and all of that, our worship (by the way I'm not saying that music is worship, because worship is more than that. We can use music to worship Him, but music in itself is NOT worship: it's a vehicle) we always come away looking a bit more like or, or effected or changed in some way ... When we're in His presence, is what I'm getting at. When we're in His presence, THAT is when things happen, THAT is when things change, THAT is when hearts are re-aligned, THAT is when good things take place haha. So like, this perfume thing. When Mary washed Jesus' feet, she poured the perfume all over His feet and stuff, and she didn't mean to use any on herself or get any on her, but she did, and she came away smelling just like Jesus... That's what happens to us when we come to Him and just BE, and stuff. In His presence, things happen. In His presence, we come to hang with Him, and we leave looking/smelling like Him. We become more and more like Him .. Oh I could talk about this forever, but I'd rather go talk TO Him! :) Ha!
