Touring for Licensed to Ill they became the guys they were mocking with their songs, so they stepped back, reflected, and came out with the radically different but also incredible Paul's Boutique. It wasn't all about selling records.
But yeah...I miss the old Beasties sometimes too. "She's Crafty" might be my favorite from Licensed to Ill. But I've never understood the "tip to base" line...anyone have opinions?
