What I like about alicia keys especially in her early years is how raw sounding and even a bit raspy her voice was. And how she and her piano could tell a story all by themselves, without the backing tracks and up tempo beats. I miss that even today. But this song was really good. I saw it as not just about a connection, but about vulnerability. Even more so, a mans vunerability. Because men are seen as strong providers who bottle everything up. So I find it beautiful that A man can be human enough to be able to open up to a woman and I pride the fact that she respects his secrets by keeping them to herself. It will only bring them closer. Plus having Tony, Toni, Tone on the track only made it more convincing.
