The story of this one is pretty simple, but I find Morrissey's bittersweet tone just lovely. He has obviously planned everything meticulously - even lying to each of them to make his plan work - and suddenly it's done and they don't need him anymore; even though that's what he intended to happen he is still feeling lonely and, perhaps, underappreciated. It almost sounds as if the couple have actually warned him that he is intruding too much on their relationship, which he views as unfair.
'The silent glimpse I believe only lovers share' is touching too... he wouldn't know firsthand, he can only assume.
